The deep dive:
The Purrified Air litter box air filter employs five-stage air filtration, using a combination cutting-edge and tried-and-true technologies.
Stage one: a filter pad blocks dust from kicked-up litter from clogging later media stages and from escaping the litter box. Stage two: The filter pad is treated with a natural chemical called catechin. It is derived from green tea and is effective against microorganisms.
Fun fact: You don't get green tea in a sushi restaurant just because it tastes good. Catechin, is also known to kill microorganisms like bacteria which can be on raw seafood, preventing illness.
Catechin is also effective in removing odor-causing and illness-causing microorganisms in the air. When weaponized by air filtration systems, catechin becomes an important phase of the Purrified Air Five Phase filtration system. After moving the litter box to a more obscure location at the back of the house, I noticed the house had an unpleasant order upon entry. Then realized the new location was right under one of the ac intake vents. Added this quiet workhorse directly over the litter box and it completely eliminated pungent, as well as more subtle litter box odors. I actually set up my sewing equipment adjacent to this space and detect no odor from the nearby litter box. Worth the money! But note, the wall brace is a separate purchase, so consider that when placing your order.
