I am using this in conjunction with an IQ Air purifier. The litter box smell has completely disappeared. It's not cheap, but I can confirm it works! Overall I do recommend this product for eliminating odor, but I also recommend adding a bigger air purifier to work in tandem with it.

I've been using this for a year and a half. It was essential that I reduce the smell of the litter box~ I have three cats and all three of their litter boxes are in an oversized walk-in closet in my office. I recently built some shelves for their boxes and took down the 'Purrified Air Litter Box Air Purifier' to do it. I had gotten used to the filter removing the smell all this time, so that when I wasn't using it any longer it was like a slap in the face! haha. I never noticed the smell when it was installed. I contributed the lack of smell to the filter yes, but also the type of box I was using, the litter, etc. I am just about to reinstall it on the wall, but thought it was worthy of writing a review. It's not the most attractive thing in the world, but it works better than anything else I've tried, and I try out a lot of cat products. ie, I've tried all the electric/robot litter boxes, and more. Anyway, it also feels good supporting a small business that really seems to value research! I get it that it might seem pricey, but I really don't think there's anything comparable to getting rid of the smell! Btw, I have no affiliation to the company, I wasn't asked to review and I didn't get anything for doing it. Just trying to help my fellow cats lovers! My cat is 18 years old and is not long for this world. His digestive track has changed. And his poo has become unbearable. We keep his litter box in a separate room. And we keep HEPA filters air filtersin the same room. But it’s gotten to the point that they made no difference. We were at our wicks end as to how to effectively deal with the litter box odor. On top of that a year ago, he stopped covering his poo up. It made for a very unpleasantstressful situation. Then we bought a Buddha dome litter box in the temp to help slow down and contain the odor. We also found the option for a high-powered exhaust fan that could go on top that had a charcoal filter. I was skeptical, but we had to try something. There were two options for mounting. One on the very top of the unit and one so it could be mounted nearby. We chose the one to go directly on top of the Buddha box. It worked wonderfully. It’s a little loud. But thankfully, it’s in the other room. It didn’t bother him or frighten him in anyway. Part of my concern was how hard it would be to clean the litter box every day or multiple times a day with the fan attached. But it really is no big deal. All I do is remove the mount and fan together and place it on the floor next to the litter box. Remove the lid like I normally would do. Do what needs to be done to clean it. Then put the lid back on and pick the mountain fan and put it back on top of the lid. I found it to be very easy to work with. But if someone can’t lift a few pounds or has dexterity issues they also have a model that can be mounted above or next to the litter box. We’re supposed to change the charcoal filters every six months. But as yet we’re still working on the first install of charcoal filters. Could not be happier with this product. It’s expensive but worth every penny. Love my cat to bits and pieces. So glad we got over that stressful issue.

I was recently surprised with a small kitten (she fell from a tree) and had just moved into a small room and wanted to keep her as close as possible. My previous cat passed away last year after 16 years, and the only thing that was ever a stressing point between my family and I was his kitty litter. So with this new addition I had two air filters running to try and help with my new kitten but you could smell the kitty litter outside my door, it wasn't a waste smell (cleaned it twice a day) it was literally just the brand smell. Then enter this air filter, when it arrived I had the smallest issue with the filter seal but the company was so fast in sending me a new one and showing me a trick so I could start using the filter ASAP. Its like I don't even have a kitty litter. I have to set an alarm now to clean it so I don't forget. and my kitten is skittish but she is used to the fan noise from the previous air filters and this one is much quieter. Great buy may purchase for my little brother who has a cat himself.

Took it apart so I could spray paint it it and it worked out well no problems. Couldn’t really put it on top of my litter box and I had to experiment with the height. It worked a little better being lower for me. I wouldn’t say it completely takes every smell out but in general you cannot tell I have a key litter box in the house. I still need to go over and scoop if the cats go while I’m in the room. But it dissipates the smells so much better. I wouldn’t really want to be without this fan. I have purchased two- one for this room and one for another.

This fan has been helpful. The cat litter box I use this for is still open to the rest of the room, so you can still tell when a poop has hit the box. It does help reduce odor in the space overall. Please not I cut vents in the top of a Tidy Cats Breeze Litterbox hinged enclosure and secured the fan to the top with the Velcro fasteners that came with the fan. I just have to be a little careful removing the enclosure lid for cleaning, but it's worked out fine so far.

We have a hairless cat, and his poop is so disgusting, it smells so horrible and he doesn't bury it at all. We live in a condo and there is nowhere to put the litter box the keep the smell out if the living area. We installed the purifier over the litter box inside of a cabinet. The cat pooped and we didn't even notice. Even when opening the cabinet to scoop, there was no odor at all, none! It's worth the price.

This air filter was gifted to my household after a long struggle with litter smell. We have a cat with kidney disease, so her business is much more "potent" than your average cat and it was taking over the house. We were scooping the box twice a day, doing a full change weekly, keeping windows open, trying various deodorizers and home air fresheners. My poor partner's nose is more sensitive than mine, so even when I couldn't smell anything he would still be bothered by it. Nothing worked until Purrified Air, the smell is gone and only faint when you approach the litter box. We'll even forget to scoop for a couple days every once in a while, that's how effective it is compared to before. The cats adjusted to the sound of the fan quickly, it's not terribly loud at all. Though it was gifted, I would've bought it myself even on a tighter budget because it's worth every penny. The filters are long lasting, we only need a couple in a year, so the refill price also feels very worth it. I have zero complaints, this has been a miracle product and vastly improved our quality of life!

After moving the litter box to a more obscure location at the back of the house, I noticed the house had an unpleasant order upon entry. Then realized the new location was right under one of the ac intake vents. Added this quiet workhorse directly over the litter box and it completely eliminated pungent, as well as more subtle litter box odors. I actually set up my sewing equipment adjacent to this space and detect no odor from the nearby litter box. Worth the money! But note, the wall brace is a separate purchase, so consider that when placing your order.

I have a big chonk of a void, and we live in a small, “open concept” house. That means any smell from his litter box can easily waft up from the basement into the kitchen and living room, which absolutely nobody is into. He already had a Scoop-Free box (which is great) but that smell is just stubborn… I got the cover for his Scoop-Free, cut a hole in the top, and plopped this fan on top to suck out and clean all that litter box air. This thing works GREAT. The rumours are true- you may forget to change the litter box because there is no smell to remind you. It’s pricey, as are the replacement filters, but they really do the job (and it’s still less than a litter robot).

Mega detailed review in case you are wondering...

My setup:
Large catbox, with a lid but no flap door because he can't fit (he's a tall cat). I have clay litter with crystals mixed in manually (due to excessive urine). The litter box is in a bathroom with the bathroom door slightly adjar. The filter is attached to the litter box top and it's running on full blast.

My cat:
16 years old male (80 years old in human years) with health issues due to kidney disease. I do labs on him once every 3 months or so now that he is sick. I just did a fecal sample test after buying the filter because the poo smelled SO bad and is what promoted me to buy it (all checked out fine from sample). The cat takes 5 medications for his stomach, intestines, kidneys and resulting nausea issue. I give him lower protein food with higher fiber and I have THREE drinking fountains for him all over the house. He has to drink once and hour and pees once every other hour on average.

I know this sounds excessive but he has been my constant companion for so long and the older he gets the more careful I have to be with his health to keep him in good shape.

His meds:
1. Antacid (like most of us)
2. Steroids (intestine inflammation)
3. Pro Biotic (paste)
4. Anti nausea (kidney issues)
5. Appetite stimulant (kidney issues)

Now for the filter:
Seems to work, knocked out like 99.9% of the poo smell which was BRUTAL. I mean GAG you brutal.

However my cat has those health issues and the concentrated pee smell seems to still make is way into the next room with the door open. My wife had magic powers to smell anything though. Me not so much.

Granted my cat is not the norm but it's worth it just to keep the poo smell from turning deadly. I think if this works for my cat or should be absolutely not problem for the average cat (small, young and very healthy).

Last word:
The packs you put in the filter are impressive. I was dubious thinking it was going to be mesh or something but the reviews were good so I took a chance. The filter packet is huge and I can see why it works so well. I feel like I am getting my money's worth for sure.
