Onyx, by Purrified Air -- A new dimension in litter box odor control.

How do you improve a product after eight years that many customers say does not remove just the vast majority of their litter box odor but eliminates every last 100 percent bit? You count your blessings and figure out how to get to 99-100 percent for more cat havers.

Onyx is the result of that effort. 

We have taken a new shape, a new color, every feature of the original "Classic" Purrified Air purifier:

• Tackified dust pad to capture kicked up litter and dander, and treated with treated with Catechin, a bacteria and odor fighting chemical derived from green tea, 
• 2.2 pounds of targeted filter media -- activated carbon, zeolite and negative ion ceramics treating 53 cubic feet of air per minute,

and added

• UV-C to eliminate bacteria and viruses,
• Photocatalytic Oxidation (PCO) with UV-A for enhanced odor control. All with zero fragrance or ozone (in fact, this system destroys ozone which may be in your air).
• A more powerful high-static-pressure fan with 65 measured cubic feet per minute going through our 2" thick filter media bed..

PCO works by shining UV-A light onto a surface coated with micro-grain anatase titanium dioxide (TiO2). The resulting reaction creates powerful oxidizers called hydroxyl radicals and superoxide ions. The radicals aggressively attack odor molecules, bacteria, viruses and mold, destroying them, leaving behind harmless carbon dioxide and water vapor.

Combining UV-C and UV-A-powered PCO provides a potent one-two punch against odor and impurities. This combination is two to five times more potent than UV-C alone.

Onyx is the same size as the Classic purifier (9-1/4" x 9-1/4" x 4-1/4" tall). It fits the same wall and overhead brackets. It consumes about $5 per year in electricity at 12 cents per KW hour when left on all the time.
